Help?

I think im going to be adding a 250MH on my 28 gallon hexagon
"slowly setting up"
But i want to learn about the care of clams because i have always liked them and want to try one down the road so i want to research now.Show some pics if you have any.
Im thinking of going with a hamilton 14K or 15K XM

What is the easiest clam to keep?

Under that lighting, you shouldn't have any problems keeping any clams. Check out my home page for some clam shots. A squamosa, derasa, gigas, and some croceas are pretty easy to keep under the right conditions.

Avoid the 15k XM bulb...they have some of the worst PAR out there. Hamilton 14k is WORLDS better.

in general the higher K you go the lower the par

XM10ks are awesome PAR. THeir 15 and 20k bulbs lack compared to other brands, especially other 14-15k bulbs.
