They looked like this before today

I had the same thing happen, to the same type of polyp. I got so tired of them looking... like that... that I gave them to my boyfriend.

They always looked fine in this tank. Months later he gave them back. I put them in a really high flow spot, and no more folded skirts.
 
I call that the "umbrella syndrome".
I don't think no one really knows why they behave like that.
Could be light, water chemistry or flow.
Perhaps a disease or irritation.

I've seen that happen mostly when there is low light and/or low water flow.
Some times, when there is an algae bloom, they do that too. Maybe because of the high DON.

I've never seen all the polyps in the tank display that at the same time.
