If you want a sure cure, you'll need to put the fish in a hospital/QT tank and treat them with either copper or hyposalinity... both of which are fairly involved processes.
If you let your main tank remain fishless for 6 weeks while you are treating your fish, the ich will die out in the main tank and your fish won't be reinfected when you introduce them to the tank again. Check out this article for full details.
Other approaches to curing ich have mixed results. Simply giving a FW dip will probably only remove some of the ich.
