i plugged in my pump on my new 300 gallon tank
and theres too many bubbles and alot of noise is my pump to big? there's barely any water in the returns i have 3 2in bulkheads draining to my sump and a hammerhead pump

thanks

I would think a hammer head would be a bit much for an under tank application. Then again you do have 3 - 2" drains. Is your pump plumbed directly to your sump? Is there any where you could be sucking air in your connections. I like to use a good amount of teflon tape to seal my threaded joints.

the pump isn't connected right to the sump i have a 2 inch bulkhead on the sump with a 2 inch elbow then reduced to 1.5 and another elbow there's no leaks to that point.
after thinking about it some last night i do have a Y connection in the rest of the return that was supposed to run my skimmer, but all that did was fill the skimmer with water like a ruturn,i'm thinking that connection needs to come out. i'm also thinking i should switch to the dart i have.

Does the hammerhead have 2" inlet? if so you should not be restricting it. I would not think that Y connection would be the problem. I run my reactors off of my dart. Pics would be the best for diagnosing the problem
