Herbie is my new best friend.

Decided to upgrade my sump this weekend to one with a refugium. I installed the eshopps R-100 and subsequently decided to plumb a Herbie overflow. OMG what a difference! The noise was cut probably 95%. Still have some cabling to clean up, but otherwise it's awesome.

I did, however make a total noob move and DIDN'T RINSE the PVC prior to installing :debi:. As a result, as soon as I turned the system on, a ton of white powder/debris flushed through the system. The next day, my fox face died. So, lesson learned.

The concept of the Herbie used to intimidate me. But now it all makes sense and was actually really easy to set up!

Spa flex; it's just super-flexible PVC. I'd say since you're in Orlando you could find a pool supply store that sells it, or of course Amazon, etc. Treat it like regular PVC with regards to gluing fittings, etc.
