Herbie Overflow Plumbing Question

Okay not freaking out yet, but forgive me if I am wrong. The Reefer series tanks use a Herbie Overflow method with an extra emergency drain pipe.


Well I just realized my Trigger Systems sump only has one drain input...


Can I safely plumb the emergency drain to another chamber in the sump like the return or skimmer area??

yeah I think you want the emergency plumbed to a different area, and placed higher up, so you will hear it

I plumbed my emergency drain right into the return chamber and like stated above keep this pipe above the water level a bit so when you hear the splashing and gurgling you know something is up with the main drain

Thanks y'all, I swore I read elsewhere to move the drain, but didn't pay much heed until I had all the time in the world to look at my dry goods waiting on the tank to arrive!
