Due to the locations of my overflows (( dual RR overflow )) and the location of inflow holes of my sump, I have both 45s and 90s on my drains (( both main and E )). Been running for 4 months now, and now issues.
The main drains are about 1" under the water level of the sump (( filter socks )) and the E drains are at the water level, using an 90 and an 45, I can still hear if the water is going down them, but the splashing is lessened.
The left side, I might have been able to fit an 45 for the last part of the main drain, but was fed up with plumbing.

Can also see the right sides main drain coming into the sump, gate valve is on the other side.
The lefts E drain (( added more PVC to get it to the water level )) and the right's main drain (( below that is the return ))
The right's E drain -- again was lowered right to the water level. (( Ignore the APEX, was spacing out things, it doesn't sit on the sump.
