Herbtana and Saltwater Ich X

I added a female bluethroat trigger last week and she-like everyone else-is fat and happy but I noticed a slight bit of ich on her last night. I have a few very expensive fish in there and am a bit nervous. While at my LFS, picking up a few cleaner shrimp, a few people recommended Herbtana.

For some reason, most LFS employees are ill informed and for most of them, take any advice from them with a grain of salt. These forums are much better to get advice from.

If you have ich, you will need to remove all fish and treat in a qt. I would start a new thread so we can help you.

This was a discussion amongst a few customers and the owner and I was just curious, as to what opinions were out there. Everyone is eating, including my afflicted female bluethroat.
I have 3 cleaner shrimp and a cleaner wrasse and I'm just going to let it be!

The cleaner shrimp and wrasse will not help in the matter. If qt is not an option then just keep doing what you're doing. A lot of fish do build an immunity to ich when exposed to it a few times. It's against my advice but sometimes it is just not an option.

I tried Herbtana, and it worked well enough. The fish that were really sick died, however the rest lived. I could see a daily improvement while using it. Fish started eating, the ich diminished, and after about 2 weeks everything was back to normal. Did a massive waterchange, fired up the skimmer, and everything was right on point. Also, the treatment did no harm to any corals or inverts whatsoever.

After going thru that experience, I now QT everything before I add to DT. It's terrible to watch that happen to your fish.

Just wondering if anyone else has used this product in a reef tank with both sps and lps corals? I have tried this in a 5 gallon bucket and it did kill the acro eating flat worms that I had gotten off some of my sps. I am thinking of treating my entire display tank with it to see if it would kill off the acro worms.
