Here we go....again :-)

Hello all. It's been about 5 years since I've had a reef tank. I'm in the Air Force and am currently stationed in Virginia. Before here, I was in Louisiana. There I had a 65 gallon reef tank with a deep sand bed. Worked well until I had to move. About 15 years ago before I came in the Air Force, I had a 150 gallon reef tank.

I'm getting back into the hobby and I've placed my order with TBS and my first "package" will arrive today. I ahve two places in my house for tanks and the first will be a "nano", and I use the term loosly, and the second will be around 200 gallons.

The first, that I have set up and ready to go is a 46 gallon Red Sea max that I have somewhat converted. The Max has an area behind the main tank portion that houses pumps, heater, protien skimmer and such. The main part of the tank is 29 gallons and the back area is 5 gallons. I installed a CPR overflow in that area and moved the heater and skimmer down to a sump/refugium in the cabinet under the tank. I'd say it's about 20 gallons.

I made the sump/refugium by hand and it's somewhat unique. I'll post some pics and show you. I'm into computers and "mod" them, so I figured why not mod aquariums. I'm using a UV sterilizer, which I've never had before, and I've also never ran a refugium, just a sump.

I'll start posting pics here and keep you updated on how it's going. I jsut wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Richard from TBS had been so helpful and VERY prefessional. I'm looking foward to seeing my rock today. Stay tuned for pics!
