Hermaphroditic Tuxedo Urchin?

I'll begin by saying that I've been working with reef tanks for two years now and am pretty well versed in their little quirks, but this one eludes me. Tuxedo urchins are supposed to have distinct gender. I've seen mine release eggs on several occasions and thought nothing of it until this past week when I caught her 'smoking' or releasing sperm.

In my experience such a thing would be incredibly rare, if not impossible. Is it possible that my urchin is hermaphriditic?
