Hermit Crab Footage?

Does anyone have any footage of their Stomatopod smashing open a hermit?
Both my smashers (male/female Chiragra) hit them a few times then give up, these are not the smallest hermits but the next ones up, larger blue legs i think. I am going to try some of the really small hermits at the weekend - will they eat the hermit or do you just think they know i will give in and toss in a crab or shrimp?
There are a few on youtube that are "Mantis attempting a hermit" but never any of them actually smashing them.

I see the same thing from mine.. but then a few days all i see a smashed up shell and no hermit..so it happens but i never see it

this guy must have been hungry...but its not a hermit crab...sorry

i have about a 4-5" peacock and he destroys anything i throw at him, i have given him lots of hermits and he smashes them open no problems

I got him an emerald today about the size of a 50 cent peice and 2 shots he ripped off both claws, and a leg, then half hour later came out and ate the claws and leg. I've had him like 2-3 weeks and first emerald i gave him and it lasted 2 minutes in the tank lol

its not a problem for him with hermits though i gave him the largest on i had probably the size of a quarter and punched 3 holes in 3 different spots in the shell to eat him. I will try and get a big hermit from somewhere and take a vid and post it for you guys

Yes, both of my Chiragras are quite capable of smashing open a crab...personally i think they know if they leave the hermit crab ill give them something else!
