Hermit Crab

I recently had to change the position of a rock in my tank but I cannot find my hermit crab, I think i may have place the rock onto of him??? Since then, my anemone has moved on it and has been stressed out so I don't really want to move the rock to check if the hermits under. MY substrate is fine sand so i'm hoping he'll just sorta rise from out of there??? Or am I being too optimistic?
