Hermit crabs? Do they eat zoa

I'm tring to figure what could be munching on my zoa!! Has anyone that had any experience with over grown blue leg hermits eating zoa? Also it maybe a huge dark hairy legged crab that has also become over grown. Any thoughts thanks

huge dark hairy crabs can be a REAL BIG problem!! Get it out of the tank and into the sump! Hermits can annoy polyps and usually only eat dead or dying polyps. good luck

Yep hermit crabs will only eat them if they are dead or dying. With that being said there may be 1 here and there thats unusual and likes them but thats how the beautiful animal kingdom works
