Hermit Crabs Vs. Snails

A while back, I removed all hermit crabs from my tank but I don't remember why. I think they crawled all over everything like a bunch of hyper 3 year olds and knocked stuff over. Now that I have been Hermit less for a few months do they provide a service that the snails can't?

They do remain active and eat stuff off the substrate and rock. They are useless for cleaning glass in my opinion and when I had a cyano outbreak they did nothing. They also kill your snails. I think it is personal preference. I have began to think that putting them together isnt a great idea because the hermits eventually WILL kill the snails.

I should probably get some and plan on buying new snails every month. The "good" fish stores are one to two hours away maybe thats a good thing:idea:

I like the crabs for there abillity to reach into holes and crevices.
