Hermit Crabs

I have some hermit crabs, some are way small. I need more shells for them, I dont want them to attack my snails.. I saw http://www.usshell.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=21 would these be safe for my tank? They also dried coral pieces.. those safe?

Should be fine. Wash them off in vinegar first and you should be good.

Try your LFS ... many keep bowls of dry hermit shells and you can choose the number/size you need.

alot of those shells in the mix look like a crab couldent use.. what is the best shells for crabs to use?

best shells for crabs to use?? They'll use anything they can fit into really. Doesn't even have to be a shell actually lol. If its the right size and it protects them, they'll take it.

But every hermit i've had has LOVED taking my cerith snail shells...so something like those would be most likely the "best" for them.

But for 3.50, i'd get that bag. My lfs charges like 25 cents for like 1 shell...who cares if you get a bunch of unusable shells in that bag...you'd get more usable ones for 3.50 than you'd get for the same price if you bought them from a store

there is a guy on ebay that sells 25 hemit shells for 5.00 shipped,that what i got,lots of nice shells.but this looks like a better deal to me,plus itll be nice to have all the shell reubble in my tank
