Hermits and Eels

Just wondering if I have to fish out all my hermits before putting an eel into my DT. Its going to be a SFE. Also will my snails and emerald crabs be okay as well?:hmm5:

With my zebra eel I notice they slowly get eatin but very slowly. If well fed you should be ok but my emerald were gone in a heart beat. It seemed like anything in a shell was safe but any I guess you could say average looking crab was toast

My zebra could care less about either. He ONLY eats bait shrimp... we're working on that, though.

ETA: What kind of eel do you have?

I only recently tried keeping hermits with eels, and it has worked very well. This was with both Gymnothorax and Echidna morays

So your going to get a snow flake good choice I just got my cat shark in for my 300 so I'm skied I think there better than eps because their cheaper

IME, a SFE will indeed eat hermits if the hermits are large enuff compared to the size of the eel. My adult ate a baseball-sized Dardanus hermit with little trouble...just plucked it out of the shell one day.

When I say hermit crabs, I mean little red leg and blue leg. I'm hoping that it will show no interest as they are so small.

Mine show no interest in any of the red or blue leg crabs that I have.
