Hermits eating Zoas?

I know alot of people say theyre just eating the stuff from in between the polyps but i swear mine are actually eating the zoas! theyre all torn up and dead looking after the hermits get after them. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have seen my blue legged hermits picking around them, but not picking at them. What type of hermits are they? Some can be pretty opportunistic

I have both Blue legged and Red legged and have never noticed them eating my Zoa's or any damage from them crawling all over them. I've never heard of it happening either.

i have red legged hermits, and everybody tells me its not possible but one of my zoa colonies is destroyed from them :/
