Hermits in a reef?

I'm also not a fan of hermits, snails only and lots of em.
The only crabs I tolerate are emeralds(until they get big) porcelain crabs, and acro crabs

Agree with others. Scarlets are great. Other smaller hermits will kill all your snails asap, amount of free shells changes nothing.

I keep a few scarlet hermits, but way more snails. I feel the hermits get to the bigger pieces of uneaten food faster/better than the snails. They shouldn't bother your gorgonians though
