Heteractis Crispa under PC's in a 75?

I have a itch for a A. Perideraion :D . The most likely host I see is the Crispa. Bottom of the tank is a "rocky eel maze cave" so I have no sand, must be up on rocks. Lighting is 4ea 96w power compacts. Is this going to fly for lighting guys?

I'm not great with the lighting issues so I'll let someone else take that, but the pc might not penetrate the water enough to get to the nem which are usually bottom dwellers. I could be wrong though, it's happened before!

FWIW - crispas a generally sand dwelling anemones. Depending on how finicky the one you get is, it may not do well in the tank without the sand. These nems are usually poor shippers and come in VERY stressed and in need of some TLC. Not having the sand that it feels comfortable in may stress it even more. Just something to think about.

Good luck, and hopefully someone will post with better answers!

I thought crispa was a rock dweller as well?

That's why I said generally. In the wild they're found in the sand, but it all goes out the window when we change the rules by throwing them in a glass box.

I've had one for almost 2 years, and it just recently climbed out of the sand. It's about the time for us to replace our halides, I'm almost certain ours moved to maximize light. I think what it comes down to is they like their foot to feel protected. Ours has stuck its foot into rock crevices while on the sand, but doesn't sit on top of rocks like H. magnifica pictures I've seen.

Another thing to consider is that you can't force the nem to be where you want it. If it's too stressed to attach (which is very common in newly shipped crispas) it's likely to spend some time on the bottom which it doesn't sound like what you want. We can superglue some corals where we would like them, but I don't think that's recommended for nems ;)

PCs will not make the cut.

I didn't think there was enough light, just doing a sanity check, thanks guys! Anyone had a pink skunk host a BTA?
