I'm looking for a small dinghy, around 7-9 feet, in used condition (aka price matters). If it leaks a little, I can probably repair it. If anyone knows anyone who's got one in their backyard just sitting there not doing anything, please try to hook me up. I prefer a v bottom (no jonboats), can be any material. I'd also consider a small sit on top kayak. Thanks all! And see you at the meeting.

Actually, I almost completely funded the restoration of my 1976 Siren 17' sailboat, the "Telepyleia", from coral frags. We decided the house needed to get done, so the tank had to go to make room for workers. I wouldn't want to think what extreme measures I'd have taken if one of the workers broke my tank. Plus, if I didn't get rid of it, I'd have had to move it, and that's a major production of its own, then I'd have to move it back!!! Well, the insurance company paid me to move it (a whopping $8 an hour!!!) and with the sales of the corals and lighting I'm pretty much set for finishing the boat. About 4 more weekends worth of work, and it'll be floatin'!

It's a little further along than in the pic, but you get the idea. I completely rebuilt the trailer, new leafsprings, new axle, new rims/tires, new winch and stand, new rollers, new guide ons, everything but the frame. I completely refurbished the hull, grinding out all the osmotic blisters, filling in the CANYONS the knucklehead previous owner left behind from winching the boat up the missing rollers, fairing, sanding, fairing, sanding... ad nauseum, primering, painting, sanding, painting... filling in the mammoth pits in the cast iron centerboard (150 lbs), flipping the boat over, resetting the trailer, painting the topsides, redoing all the teak, replacing 90% of the hardware, finding and cleaning a good used jib, completely rewiring and replacing all electrical connections and lights, completely building a new rudder, etc etc etc etc.

wow! its comes a longgg way. i still have my boat i bought in my driveway, havent worked on it in almost a year :(

Yeah... from the picture above, I've installed the bow pulpit, all the cleats, the jib cars, the vent, the cabin door and rails... so it looks a bit different now.

Kindof hard to do... I go to work in the dark, and I get home in the dark. I'll be working extensively on it this weekend...
I'll be completely wiring the lighting, bilge pump, and motor, and installing the plumbing for the bilge pump.
I'll be setting up the rigging and recaulking the hull to deck joint.
I might even turn a few wrenches on the trailer to get it ready to tow.

The rudder is entirely hand made and shaped, the tiller was bought but reshaped for my purpose. Rudder's made of butternut.
