Finally decided to make the plunge here at Reef Central, as I am a long time lurker...
Back in December, I upgraded my 75g rimless to a Red Sea Max S500 (120g) system. This thing is like a Cadillac with regards to maintenance and creature comforts! Primarily, this is a stick tank, with a few LPS and Z&P's floating around. Fish wise, there are a ton! I went with fish that don't exceed 4" once fully grown, most are closer to the 3" max size, with the exception of the Kole tang.
So, on to the stats...
Equipment
Skimmer-Red Sea C-Skim (supplied)
Lighting-10 bulb T5HO (supplied)
ATO-Integrated 7g holding tank with a gravity feed. (supplied)
Circulation-3-740gph circulation pumps along the back wall (supplied). 2 Maxspect XF150 Gyres. 2 modded Tunze 6025s for flow along the back wall. Total system flow including the return is somewhere between 12,000 and 14,000gph. The Gyres run at 100%.
Dosing-Bubble Magus dosing pump for Ca/Alk/Mg.
Chemical Filtration-BRS Dual Media Reactor for Carbon and GFO.
Fish
Bonded pair of Melanarus Wrasses, which seem to spawn regularly.
Bonded pair of Red Velvet Fairy Wrasses, which seem to spawn regularly.
Bonded pair of Zebra Barred Dartfish, which seem to spawn regularly.
Bonded pair of Maine Mocha Clowns, which seem to spawn regularly.
Trio of Blue Reef Chromis--Started with 3, still have 3! I call that a success! :bounce2:
