i asked somebody to buy me corals, then when i got the corals i saw the purple goniopora has a small part that is already dead, and it really smell bad,it just arrived on the lfs last two days, thay told me it was a rere species, can i keep it?or should i throw it?will it just cause nitrate blooms?pls. reply asap!!!
i realy nid your advice.

i would try to save it something like that is worth it. now if you see it starts going down hill then its time to get it out.especially if you paid top dollar for it.

ah ok,it's rare bcoz,it's really dark purple,i'll try to post a pic,but here in the phillippines, even though it's rare i only got for $1,hehe,most corals here are cheaper, but this only comes by sometimes so i really want to save it.

Propagating, fragging and swapping are the way to go so we're not taking from real ocean reefs. A coral in tank will last several years if lucky but one left in the ocean ....

What you taking about.... corals shouldn't die after a couple of years in your tank. Unless you are getting some of the known species that just will not make it in aquariums.. some gonis ...ect ...
