just got a fresh anemone today! just wondering, if i turn off my light, will they start moving randomly? dont want it to stun my zoas/clam/hammer corals. also, will they fall off the rock while they are moving at night? or they always grab on something with their foot?
thanks ^^

They usually move if they are unhappy with the spot they are in. My BTA usually starts moving when the MH go out. He'll shrunch up a little and start inching with his foot on the rock like a snail would. He only moved to the bottom side of the rock and now faces the back of the tank. So far he hasn't let go.

How big is it?

normal size: 3.5 inch tall, butt size: 2 inch, head size: 4 inch.
sometimes he become really big, like 6 inch tall and 4.5 inch wide (just ate a piece of shrimp 4 hours ago) and he is 3 inch away from the surface of my tank (long tentacle anemone)

sad thing is, it is in a 12gal tank with dual 27w daylight dual 27w actinc(friend's tank crashed, just leave it here) i will get a 150w 14000k MH by tuesday, just wonder if he will wonder around and stun my corals :x

Just letting you know a 12 gallon is way to small for an anemone. In a tank size this small, the water chemistry, temperature changes very fast thus horrible water stability.

An LTA will almost certainly not stay on the rocks, it should find a place with it's foot in the sand,,, that said,,, it may be the current lighting that is causing it to move higher. 150w 14k should be fine for keeping the anemone long-term (or until it outgrows the tank).
