Being new hobby I'd like to hear from everyone on what test kits they use and where they keep their basic parameters I've been using Red Sea. The magnesium test and the calcium test I have no problem with but the alkalinity tests I'm just not sure about so any help everybody can give me I would appreciate.

I use Hanna checkers for alkalinity and phosphate and Red Sea/Red Sea Pro for most of the others. (The Pro versions of Nitrate and Alkalinity are quite a bit better than the regular Red Sea ones.)

Nice tank !! I love the in-wall setup, Looks like it can be viewed from both sides and that is very cool :beachbum:

For the test kits I like the hanna egg checkers. I find them a little expensive but it takes the color guessing and the long 1 drop&stir like the red sea kit out of the equation. This leaves less room for error and more accurate results. For stuff like ammonia - nitrate - nitrite I just use the basic API test kits. For Phos/Alk/Cal I use the Hanna and for Mg I use Salifert.

Happy Reefing

Allo! Red Sea for Cal and Alk. Salifert for Mag, don't use Redsea for Mag, notoriously flawed. API for ammonia and nitrate. Electronic meters for Ph and TDS.
