Hi, my name is Intricable .....

.... and I like zoanthids, asking a million questions, and being veeerrry specific about the animals that will live in the glass cage in my living room.

Long story short: I'm originally from Wisconsin, my fiance and I were part of the Fox Valley Reef Club for a while before a catastrophe took his 100g predator reef to a smoldering pile of low-tide rock, glass, and holy-schnitz-the-damn house is on fire, get the hell out, call 911. We moved to Denver almost exactly a year after that. Just over another year has passed since that terrible day, and we once again have a (much smaller, with LED lighting) reef tank.

I'm ecstatic :-)

But I really miss FVRC. The meetings were so much fun, the coral trading and selling was probably my favorite part, and all the people were incredibly helpful. What I know about the darc is the little I've heard from the folks at Elite Reef and from a chubby fella that worked at a closer store that doesn't carry much coral. (sidenote: I hate Todds. They always seem to discount me as someone just fish-watching, when really I'm interested in finding that very special specimen for our nano tank.)

I don't have any questions today, but I'm sure I will in the future, I just wanted to introduce myself to the club. I'm sure I can learn a lot from you all.

Welcome to Denver!

We have a fun group that meets monthly... and we always enjoy having new folks stop by. There are a couple of other aquarium clubs in the area including The Colorado Aquarium Society, Marine Aquarium Society of Colorado and the Southern Marine Aquarium Society. Lots of fun events to be had. :)
