I have a 55 gallon tank we would like to put 3 kelloggi's in. What would you suggest I use for good looking hitching posts?

Sea fans, artificial things, pretty much any thing they can wrap their tails aroud. My horses seem to like the natural stuff....Mangrove shoots and macro.

Sorry, unless you know someone who is breedding them, avoid them like the plauge.

So many people have gotten them, nearly all have lost them, they are not captive bred, and they are cheap and nasty.

Not the horses fault, but the breeders.

I second David's warning against the kelloggis. The "TR kelloggis" are not TR, and possibly not even kelloggi. Go with some true CB seahorses. True CB costs more, but they will not spread disease and parasites in your tank, and they will last years instead of weeks.

branch rock hitches

branch rock hitches

I use mostly branch rock for my seahorse hitches. It is great for them to wrap their tails around.....and it's good for the tank.

This is my custom built 85g Erectus tank. 36" tall 36" long and 15" wide.

No seahorses in it yet.....it is still cycling. I have a 75g that has 8 erectus in it. They love branch rock.

I have quite a bit of branch rock in with my Erectus, they don't use any of it for hitching. They all prefer either macro or other fake decor. Not sure if the rock just isn't a natural hitching spot for them or if they don't like the texture or what.
