HiFin goby and pistol shrimp now sharing home with THREE firefish

I have mainly gobys in my 30 gallon since they are generally peaceful towards others. But I never thought a fire fish would be welcome in the shrimp/goby cave, especially all three!! Funny things is I bought the fire fish because I wanted something that wasn't a bottom dweller and I only have 2 clowns and a gramma that explore the higher levels of the tank.

The hifin hasn't poked his head out since his new roommates have arrived... hopefully he isn't too annoyed.

Is this pretty common? I hadn't heard of fire fish gobys pairing with shrimp and other gobys before.

Spoke too soon!

Spoke too soon!

My HiFin red banded goby shot out of the cave this morning and landed upside down for a moment. It looked like its neck was broken and both its highfin and tailfin have been chewed off!!!!

I managed to get him in the fuge but he doesn't look good. I doubt he'll survive.

What is going on!? Could it have been the firefish? Did the pistol shrimp turn on him? So strange.

My firefish, pistol shrimp, and goby have been hanging out for three months now without any issues. Goby and shrimp were added last unpaired

The Hifin did not survive. Now I have a yellow watchman that stays in the cave at night and a blenny that stays there during the day. They trade off each night and morning. Crazy right? The two surviving fire fish only stay in the cave at night.
