High Alk Spike

A couple days ago I tested my alk and it was at 13. I noticed a lot of my sps were looking stressed, so I did a few water changes and brought back down the alk to it's normal level of 9. but I'm starting to notice that a lot of the sps are turning brown now. I was wondering if i should just wait it out and let everything work its self out or should I be doing large water changes? I guess they're just finally showing the signs of stress from the spike in alk?

would an alk measurement of 13 cause browning? is that the typical stress they show from higher alk readings?

Yeah sounds right to me. I have a low alk issue mine is at 7. Alot of my sps are brown and having some issues. Alk and alk stability is important to sps color and health.
