High Calcium

Hello ,I have a 54 Gallon soft coral tank & when ever I test for CA its is 500 or higher .
I do not dose any CA since it is high should I look to get it down to 400 ? If so how ?

Hmm, Oceanic salt has high calcium right out of the bag. Have you tested some freshly-mixed saltwater? How is the alkalinity doing?

If your other parameters are in line, you can just wait for Ca to fall on its own, although water changes with a high-Ca salt will move it back up again.

This article has a pretty thorough discussion of this type of problem:

I would just supplement alkalinity with an alkalintiy only supplement (to 2.5-4 meq/L; 7-11 dKH) and let the calcium decline a bit on its own. The article describes that process.
