high calcium

My calcium test is coming out with 29 drops of tritrite instead of the recommended 21 drops to turn. Is that an acceptable level or way high. I've just started testing myself and use bio-alk and calc, add each day. Have left off calc dosing for over a week. Have lots of coral and about a dozen fish in 90g.

what brand of test kit are you using? What you really need to know is the PPM. Does the test kit state the PPM equivalent of 29 drops?

No, it doesn't state ppm just drops, 21 is normal.....So I don't really know. It is the test that uses the powder and drops both and goes from pink to blue,,,,,I guess that sounds DDDDUUUHHH but I'm new at testing. I've ordered a complete test kit so hopefully I will get more info with that.....thanks for the help

Im curious what brand of test kit it is that does not give you the value in PPM
A lot of people on RC use Salifert brand. It also goes from pink to blue.

It's Natureef, comes with everything to test but maybe I'm just confused about the directions, wouldn't be the first time......

It has to have a method of converting drops used to ppm or some other unit of Ca concentration, otherwise its meaningless.

Hey, after reading all the comments, I have finally figured it out.....DDDDUHHHHHHHHH. My kit reads 21 ppm so I just X the drops and I have a number.........Thanks a mil....
