Where can i find a high density polypropylene container for rodi storage. Brutes are made of polyethylene which has a chance to leach phosphates according to a lot of folks on the web. I need two 40 gallon drums. Any help would be appreciated.

I think according to 1 person that actually verified it.

I called the company and asked for ingredients and then did some research on plastics. I've been reading for a couple of months and have found that a couple of people are testing phosphates in their ro bin. Where as some people are not

I've had a batch of zero TDS (confirmed by two different meters) RO/DI water for over eight months in a container manufactured MDPE and it hasn't leached anything (that we can test for anyway) in this time and its TDS is still 0.

I have used trash cans in the past that we're leaching phosphates and driving the up TDS by approx 6ppm per week, there were made from HDPE but weren't food grade and were likely manufactured from recycled plastics?

Do you own brutes? And they're made of Low density polyethelene

No not a brute, just a regular rubbish bin as we call them over the pond (I'm from England), I called it a trash can so the many Americans on this board would understand what I was refferring to.

So mine was originally a 'bin' purchased from B&Q.

A lot of folks on the web are clueless. Brutes are made from LLDPE and do not leach phosphates. If you do an advanced search here for Randy Holmes-Farley and use Brute as the keyword you will get the real scoop. In addition to being a phd chemist he has done extensive work on plastics and has shown why Brutes cannot leach phosphates.

Those "folks on the web" all used fuzzy science to make their claims.

Right on!!! Thank you for that
