I got a pair of these guys last friday. I acclimated them for two hours. The shrimp found a spot towards the front of the tank " perfect just what I wanted". To date the fish has remained hidden I have yet to see him eat. I am a little worried that he may starve to death. I hope he pulls through. Should I try to spot feed the fish & the shrimp? I am not worried about them paring up they was paird at the lfs. I know is a matter of time before they meet. My worry is that they might not get enough to eat.

From what I've experienced, the goby should be fine. You can try to entice the goby out with food, if you'd like, but these are pretty timid fish and take more time to get used to their new surroundings.

I've got a Yasha that disappeared for six-seven months and came out alive (albeit very thin), so I think a few days won't hurt your goby. (We thought he was dead for six months, and by all rights he should be - we moved the tank to my dorm and he survived the cycle, as well as the two months of me carefully target feeding all my inverts).

I have a hi fin and a candy stripe pistol shrimp. I hardly ever see the shrimp and the goby peeks out the cave opening but doesn't come out very far. I do spot feed the goby with a turkey baster just to make sure he gets enough.
