High PH/ CO2 question

I've been dosing with a Calcium Reactor for about a month and I've had good a constant ph of 8.2 to 8.3. But when I noticed my alk at 14dkh, I began to slow the CO2 down. But the dkh wasn't falling so I turn the CR off for a while. But during the time the CR was off my ph has shot up to 8.6 and I'm not dosing kalk. My question is, Is it ok to shoot CO2 directly into a powerhead inside my tank to get the ph down? Thanks

Yes, adding CO2 is OK, although a pH of 8.6 is not a huge problem.
