My ph is 8.5 in both tanks and I want to take it down to 8.2 Is it true that when you raise your calcium that your ph drops? What is the best way to lower the ph?

Lately I have taken my water to a lfs to test it and they have always said that it was low. But my test at home said it was 8.4-8.5 so I thought my testing solution was getting old. But its not. Any way I just got a ph monitor and am sure of it now. I have to drive about an hour to get to a lfs and wonder if in transporting the water that the ph drops by the time I get there hence the low ph they show at the store. I have taken it to 2 different lfs.

Yes. Ph will drop if it is not aerated or getting fresh air. Try to put a sample in a container and and test it after an hour with your Ph monitor. You should see a drop in Ph.
