Hippo Tang Burping O2 Bubbles

First off, sorry if this question and the related answers have been posted before. I couldn't find anything through the search feature.

I was reading a thread in another forum about various types of fish and there was a description for a hippo or regal tang stating that they need copious amounts of oxygen. So, it got me thinking about the behaviors of my tang.

I have a hippo tang that regularly speeds from near one end of the tank to near the other (6ft tank) and then "burps" out some bubbles through the gills and/or mouth. Does this mean that the oxygen level in my tank is low? Or, is it normal for them to do this even in oxygen rich water? I've had him for about 3 years, but he's only been doing this act for 4 or 5 months now. He seems perfectly happy and content and eats like a tang should.

Any thoughts?
