hippo tang diet

i was just wondering what the best thing was for a hippo tang to eat as i just got one and regularly feed other fish pellets and a sheet of algae every day

would this be enough as i have not actualy seen it take any food yet

Lots of nori sheets... they also need a bit more meat in their diet than other tangs... mysis, chopped up table shrimp, etc... my hippo will devour just about anything I give him.

What most people dont know about tangs is the fact that you cant feed them too much nori sheets. Some say aglae strips 3 times a week. To me that is rediculous considering their diet in the wild is 90% veggies. So I give about 2-3 clips of nori per tang per day. So in other words if I walk by my tank and the nori is gone I replace it with a new one. These guys are like cows, they graze and graze. Their digestive system is build to break down algae, weeds, and calurpa quickly. It keeps their guts full.


Oh and I also put fresh heads of green romain lettuce in there. They tear that stuff up
