Hippo Tang Feeding Problem

Within the last 2 weeks I obtained a healthy about 4" long hippo tang from a fellow hobbiest. I put the fish is a quarentine tank that I had set up acouple of months ago with a few piece of live rock. The first few days it retreated to the underside of the rock and didn't come out. Then after about 4 day it came out and ate some mysis shrimps, and flake. Eating for a few days then it stopped eating again and went to the underside of the rocks.
I have tried mysis, flake and Nori at diferent times with no luck.
I change about 2 gallons of the water on a daily basis using water from my reef tank and use a sponge filter in a hang on back filter for filtration. Any suggestions on how to get this guy (or girl) to eat. I had planned to keep him in this 30 Gal tank for 30 days and then put him in my main reef tank if all went ok.

try spirulina enriched brine (the frozen cubes), also hang a piece of nori from a clip and leave it there.

I've heard of garlic being used to stimulate feeding, but I have never tried.

HTH.
