hippo tang stressing

yesterday i took every thing out of my tank so i could replace old bedding with new live sand. i put all my live stock in another aquarium that iwas not using. i changed the bedding out and placed all my live rock in, including some that i have just spent the last three weeks curing along with the live sand. i then added my livestock. all perameters seem to be fine, but my hippo tang is freaking out still after 12hrs later. is there anything i can do to calm him. i would hate to see him stress out so much that it would bring about his doom.

Is it the 90 gallon or the 60 gallon hex? Maybe because you added rock itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s stressed out because of being in a tighter space.

it is the 60 gallon. im wondering if there are any suppliments i can add to the water to calm him. something that will not kill the reef. i think if i could get him to chill out he might get use to the surroundings with out getting lateral line or something else. because if i have to go back in an catch him for quarentine. im sur this will bring about his demise

Just leave the lights off for a little while as that may help the fish calm down. Unless you filled up the tank wiht rock and there is no more space in the tank the Hippo will calm down just give it some time.

ive feed him some dried sea weed and some frozen formula one and he seems to have settled down a bit.
