HLLE Question

I have a 2 Spot Bristletooth Tang that went through 6 weeks of QT without issues. He was put in the DT about a year ago and has developed 3 small spots on his Lateral Line. They are small white dots and have never moved or fallen off.

I feed him Nori almost every day.

Do I need to worry? Should I just watch him and see if it progresses?

If you think it's the beginning of HLLE, best to take a proactive approach. Start soaking his food with vitamin supplements (Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem). I've read many experiences where HLLE was reversed just by doing that.

Also, do you run carbon? If so, what kind? Have you tested for stray voltage? Got a grounding probe in the tank?

I do run Carbon, but not all the time. I use the BRS Premium stuff. I've never tested for stray voltage, but I have my tank on a GFCI so wouldn't that trip if there was stray voltage in the tank?

BRS carbon is good stuff, so that's likely not the problem.

I use a voltmeter to test for stray voltage.

I can do that when I get home. Do I just stick both the red and black in the tank or do I have to ground somewhere outside of the tank?

My leads aren't that long. They are only about 6 - 8". I guess I could run a extension cord over to the tank. The ground one is the hole at the bottom, right? Forgive my ignorance, but I don't know much about electrical. :D
