I don't have a dog in this hunt, but thought I would offer my $.02. One reason THIS forum is used primarily for buying/selling/trading is because it is easiest to execute those things locally rather than through the mail. This page lets us communicate with those local to us.

For general information, I typically post in the Reef Discussion forum, or Reef Fish forum, or etc. etc. etc. That way I reach a MUCH larger audience than just the local guys, many of whom I may call on the phone for advice if needed locally. If I were to use the local page only for seeking information, I would be limiting myself greatly.

So don't judge this forum/page just by the number of people communicating trades/sales etc.
 
This whole thread is ironic. You guys have absolutely no clue.
 
This is RC site and they offer free forums to all the reef clubs out there...and many clubs have their own websites.On your own website the clubs set their own bylaws and rules of conduct and when you post on RC you have to play by their rules,simple as that.
I see on a lot of RC club forums where people test the limits and then wonder why they get banned or suspended.
 
You offer free hosting to our masc page and others because without lots of traffic going through Reef Central you don't get paid from sponsors. The more traffic the more money, and all the supporting members pay for the "free hosting".

Its all about money. Without members input this site doesn't exist and you don't get paid through all the sponsors.

Maybe you should think about treating all your traffic like crap since we pay the bills indirectly.

Okay. Using your "model" our traffic, over the last 4 years, has quadrupled. I think we'll stick with the way that we're doing things.
 
Just because the site is free does not mean that you should treat anyone with disrespect. treat it like a business because you know RC is making money. And what is the motto of every single business? (the customer is always right)


Well look at what 5 minutes of my time and good ol google turned up. seems to be a very big problem across the nation with the mods on this site not just in here. with whole websites devoted to the same problem not including all the threads you have closed that are long lost. Seems to me that the name BEERGUY is most prominent name of them all. I wonder if Everyone else including all of your valuable sponsors are aware of this problem yet? even better question i wonder how many complaints before POOF BYE BYE Beerguy.

Yeah, kind of subpar numbers for a forum though.

Over at ar15.com there are 829,396 unique users, that get treated with most upright respect.

I bet more people own clownfish than an ar15 especially after finding nemo.

10,000 compared to 829,000. You're doing great.

your right ar15 is a sweet site. i spend hours there compared to 10-15 minutes here. in fact goodnight off to ar15.com
 
:lol: And half those people on those sites are still trying to sign back up here. They failed to follow the rules, and just like most that don't it's never their fault.

If it was 'just about the money' he wouldn't have been removed as a sponsor.

Some things are just not everyone's concern. We don't draw straws to see who to pick on for the day.

If you hate it here, why are you here?

If you really think that there is any other forum that doesn't have the same kind of situations, you're dreaming.

You guys just need to move on here.

ar15 has 241,498, we have 237,406. Were you making a point or just babbling on?
 
If you don't like it here, don't post here. How hard is that?

Now, it's time to get back to talking about reef keeping.
