Well, I got this cute little guy at the LFS, and apparently the owner said he had a few hybrids but this was a frogspawn...
Well I know what frogspawns look like and at the time it was so small, the coloration and tips plus other frogspawn charicteristics obviously showed.
I put him in my tank, did the acclimation to my 250W 14K MH lighting with T5 HO actinic supplementing, and had him center location in no time...he's somewhat exploded in growth which is a good sign, how-ever he isnt balled up and a solid mass like other frogspawns I've seen, and in mid say he stretchs insanely long and gets massive, then shrinks at night.
I'm debating if he is a hybrid, torch/frogspawn? some tentacles have only the torch profile meanwhile the other tentacles are almost 100% frogspawn. My water param's are excellent I do tests often, I have a colony of "assumed" dead galaxea coral, re-budding...and any coral's I put in open within 5 minutes...I've heard of hybrids, and an ID would be fantastic.
I assumed he may be "stretching" for more light, so I put him up close to the top, the highest spot of the tank, yet he still is stretching. I'm aware he can take a long time to adjust. How-ever I was assuming he'd either shrink, act differently, or get ****ed off.
He seem's happy no matter where I put him. Is it normal for frogspawns to stretch like this? Any thoughts, ideas would be greatly appreciated. His growth is amazing. Here's the pics.
Him at night...
during the day, mainly all day...
and as a thank you in advance for the help, my blasto which is makin babies.
