hob refugiums

Anyone have experience with them? Any good recommendations? My stand doesn't have enough space to do a sump (I would have to take the doors off and that defeats the purpose of hiding my equipment). Should I just build one of those DIY aquaclear ones???

I have a large (24") CPR AquaFuge.

I like it - have cheato and LR in there, making for lots of pods and bristleworms.

They are a bit pricey for the volume, but still beats the pants off an EcoSystem HOB fuge when it comes to value.

Hey for the money and size of your tank I sure would think about it! It's you tank and your money you decide.

I use an aquaclear 70 on my 40 breeder, and I have a normal sump/fuge, I just use the HOB so there is a way for pods to get in the display without getting chopped up by a pump, I think a similar size Aquaclear with a small light would serve you about as well as a purchased HOT fuge, but it would be a lot less$$$
