Hob Skimmer Questions

I am HOB skimmer shopping. Its between the Aqua C Remora Pro, the Deltec mce300 and the Deltec mce600. I have seen a lot of negatives about the MCE 300 and we all know the price of the MCE600. I have heard pretty good things about the Aqua C. Is the MCE600 really worth the money? Also whats the latest on the MCE300?

I've had a regular remora (not pro) on a 55 and it was great. I had an average-heavy bioload on that tank as well. I'd think the pro should be fine.

I have the deltec mce600. I wouldnt have anything else. I also placed it on the side of of tank looks alot better. NOTHING beats a Deltec

Take a serious look at the Tunze DOC 9010. I would take it over the MCE600. Its an "in tank" skimmer, but is no bigger than an overflow. I wouldn't bother with an MCE300 or the Remora.

I've been using the Remora Pro for over 6 months and its not doing a sufficient job at exporting nutrients. I'm wishing that I had the Deltec MCE600.

check out coralife super skimmers.

i have one, and it produces thick dark skimmate, and alot of it. does a fantstic job, with little tono microbubles back into the tank.

Listen to sjm, you can run the tunze in your sump down the road as well. The aqua c imo is no more than junk.

Here is a pic of the working end of a 9010
