HOB Skimmer Recommendations for 30g Breeder

Hi!

I'm thinking of replacing my HOB Red Sea Prizim Skimmer - worked great for a few months but it's not working right for me any more -keeps kicking off. I'm going to clean it and put it back together tonight and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't then I'm going to order a new HOB skimmer for my 30g breeder. (36x18x12)

Does anyone have a recommendation?

(No sump so it has to be HOB)

I'd recommend a Remora.

I second the remora, I've had both the regular and the pro and no fuse no muss as far as user friendly. Never had an over flow or any other traditional problems. Though the draw back is the only way for adjustments are to raise and lower the cup so you are limited with that. It seems to be sensitive to oils and feedings. Clean up is relatively easy with the exception of the screw inside the unit has to be taken out on occasion and cleaned with a pipe cleaner type brush which they provide if bought new. Also, don't go with the rio that a lot of the models come with use a maxi jet 1200. They also have an overflow box which I never used but wanted to but I upgraded before I had the chance. The regular model I believe is rated for 65g and the pro at 125g. For what you would use it for, and for the money it's your best bet.
