Hoeven's wrasse vs Peppermint shrimp...

Errmm, I may have just made a mistake...

Will a hoeven's wrasse kill/eat peppermint shrimp?

I just brought home 2 peppermint shrimps, barely an inch long, they are acclimating now. They will be going in a 40g DT into which my 3" hoeven's wrasse will be going this weekend once i move him from QT.

Is he going to attack the peppermints?

Most likely he will but you never know. I have a mystery wrasse and hoevens in my 120 and I put in 9 pep shrimps. That made for a very expensive fish feeding.

Mine hasnt touched any of my peps. I made sure and bought large ones, and my Hoevens is about 2.5 inches.

You'll probably be fine since the shrimps are going in first.

Once he's established he'll think things like that you place in the tank are food.

Mine ate my cleaner shrimp that were in the tank first. After he was in the tank a few months with them.
