Hole in Frogspawn skeleton

I noticed that one of the heads of my frogspawn was not expanding. When I looked closer I could see a good sized hole in the skeleton with a brown ring around it. Anyone ever see this before?

Its hard to tell what that is by the picture, but at this point that part of the skeleton has no effect on the health of the coral. You can stick a screw driver in it, its just dead skeleton.

Almost looks like a vermetid snail starting to grow on it. If you see fine white stringy strands coming out of it, its a vermetid snail.

This may be a little off subject but how do you eliminate those "vermetid snails"? They spread and become annoying....I just try to cut the shell and then crush what's remaining........

Usually i scrape them off and dig down into the rock a little bit to remove any traces.
Once in a while you might run across a repeat offender which requires a crazy glue funeral.

Well it must have been paranoia on my part. It's all plump and wavy now, Probably a snail or hermit setting up shop nearby getting on it's nerves.
