is that chinese ebay place still the go to guy for diamond tip hole saws?

I need a big one for a 2" bulkhead

crap...if I have to buy a super expensive hole saw I might go with a normal sized drain for this new tank then

that was my question. what are you putting in this tank?

2" on a 40 gallon tank!!??

just e-maill the hong kong guy on ebay he has them i know i got one from him. if not there are other on ebay that have them.
i would let you borrow mine but it is not like i am five minutes away. if you are ever up in central IL let me know.

thanks panaboy

I have a 2" drain on my current tank and was hoping to just re-use the plumbing

but Im thinking dual drains for the new one...so the 2" hole saw wont be necessary, but I dont have any hole saws, so I'll still need something

I bought mine from Richon tools. Super cheap and they worked great. I bought a 45mm and 38mm bit. I used them on my 90 and plan to drill my 125 this weekend. If they only last on the two tanks they were worth it.

They are in Hong Kong. The shipment comes in a little cardboard box. I bought my bits in seperate purchases and both came just fine.

I drilled 4 holes with my richon tools saw and it is still going strong. Shipping is fairly fast too. I don't know how big they go.

What is your skimmer feed rate? It doesn't help to have more than about 10% over the feedrate. i.e. if it feeds with a mj1200, there's not much point in running more than about 350gph through the sump or you lose efficiency. Now if it's a beckett or downdraft, then go for sump throughput.

its just a standard ER RS5-3 w/ sedra 3500, so Im assuming the feed rate is low, but I need to use my return pump for some flow in the tank as well

I guess as long as you are producing good amounts of skimmate (cup a day dark) and nitrates stay 0-5, then no harm no foul.

my skimmer doesnt do anything

the bubbles reach the top but never overflow into the cup

skimmers are such a headache for me, I can never get them setup right

its a really good and clean skimmer too, so its not doing anything wrong, its 100% user error
