Home for Sea Hare?

Hey Guys,

I picked up a Sea Hare yesterday to help with my green hair algae. I was wanting to find out if anyone wanted to take him off my hands after he eats up all the algae in my tank?

I am located in 11557. I would need to pick up some bags for the transfer and cost of arranging the pickup/driving to you so $5 would be fair enough when that time comes.

Let me know if anyone is interested in this algae eater. I will probably need him for the next week or two

If you're within an hours distance I'd be willing to meet up when I'm ready to get rid of it, might want a few extra bucks than that $5 if I have to drive far though

You can put me on the list for him -- I'm in Hicksville. Good luck keeping him alive. I bought 3 of the "flying" variety a couple of years ago... they chowed down on the hair algae in my 210, and then died one at a time before finishing the job. There was still plenty to eat so it wasn't like they starved.

I had a few of them stay alive for 3 months. Once the food is gone is when they die on me. I have tried several time to give them away before they die and no one ever comes so sad :)

If George doesn't take him, I'll try him out. I've got some GHA I'd love to get rid of!

On the flip side, George, if you do take him and want to pass him along when the job is done let me know and I'll take him from you.

I'm in Merrick.

George is first. It's all up to you guys who gets it next after that. So far the little guy has been feeding most of the day, but every inch of my live rock is filled with GHA when I started so he's got some long das ahead of him. Probably at least a week out from any thoughts of moving him to another tank.

George. I can bring him in the Reef Gently Acclimate and if you dont mind, maybe we can talk tanks and stuff while we use that to acclimate him to your tank, or i can pass him off to you to acclimate him some-other way.

Absolutely! I love showing off my tanks, systems, and Seahorses. I do not have a "reef tank," per se; no SPS, but a few softies. But that doesn't preclude me from having a ton of hair algae!! LOL

And, Kevin, no problem passing him to you if we get to that point.

Jaynie... you're just too damn far! LOL (It amazes me how an hour drive would be nothing to me when I was younger, now I hate even getting into the car to do battle with the crazies!) Sorry for the digression... Sea Hare! Yeah!

Sea horses? My GF will love it if I take some pictures of those.

George_G,

Sent a PM to get the discussion started on how we will handle transferring the Sea Hare. He's more than half way through I believe at this point with my tank
