Home owners insurance

Now that Christmas has come and gone, and the tree will be down in a few weeks it is time to get in serious mode about the new system in the living room. So i called our home insurer (State Farm) just to check to make sure if something catastrophic would happen such as a seam break that it would be covered. She is checking with claims right now so i dont have an answer in my case, but has anyone else checked with their insurer? If not, did you have to get a separate/rider policy?

I checked with ours years back and we are good to go if I were to have a tank failure. We are through a small local mutual though.

Heard from my insurance agent. She said that water damage caused by a slow leak would not be covered as I should have fixed it before that point. Any damage to the home caused by a catastrophic failure would be covered. In either event no coverage would be provided for equipment or livestock loss, nor is any rider available.

Of course, this information may not be correct. Ladies who work at our agents office has dropped the ball numerous times. Tempted to call SF directly and see what they say. Seems odd that no equipment or livestock coverage is available.
