I have my iMac hooked up to my surround unit with a dirty mini headphone jack to RCA. I need to build one of these cables for myself to get some nice sound out of it with less noise floor, id also like to get some nice canare speaker cable to replace the cheapie crap I have.

Not the best system, but all except the PS3, this was purchased piece by piece when I was 14-16 year old (Im now 23) The next upgrade will likely be a better receiver. Probably not for awhile though.

We upgraded about 4 weeks ago:
60" Pioneer Kuro ELITE Plasma Monitor (PRO-141FD)
Pioneer ELITE Receiver (SC-05)
Pioner ELITE BluRay Player (BDP-95FD)
Boston Acoustic 9500 Satellite Speakers w/300W Active 12" Subwoofer (and a front center speaker)
Apple TV (have had this for awhile)

And this is why I have no money for corals...

i have an elite also, love it. top qual plasma on the market, but in the bedroom, settled for a vizio...still good qual. nice amounts of ports.. get klipshe speakers...they bump seriously

I allways like Yamaha Receiver. I know there are far far better amplifiers like Macintosh and others but with budget i've($1,200) I always liked Yamaha. Dont buy Sony.. it's a junk amp, speaker, all. I use Infinity center channel 5" mid range 2 twiters. front 2 are Boston acoustics, 2 rear are NHT, sub i use Paradigm subwoofer that has 12" this I cant even turn up more than 1/4 cause it rattles whole house windows, even toilet seat rattles.. LOL.

I have my PS3 Synced to my computer so i can stream any movie on my computer onto the TV wirelessly and will upconvert it to 1080P

Haven't posted on here in awhile, but this thread caught my eye.

So my system is a bit old now, (this was built in 2003), it lacks HDMI and all that, but its not a video system, its purely for listening to my SACDs. This is at the low end of hi fidelity gear. I could have easily spent $100K on audio gear if I wanted the really good stuff. But after owning this system now I could never go back to combined amplification and processing, (Receivers) for my main listening room. I do however use receivers for less crucial audio tasks. I have a Marantz SR 7400 on my computer :) And a Denon AVR 3200 for the loft.

Speakers by Linn (http://www.linninc.com/)
Hand crafted in Scottland. I think Linn has grown quite a bit recently, but before it was a much smaller company.

Front Linn Ninka http://www.audioenz.co.nz/2003/linn_ninka.shtml
Center Linn Trikan http://www.linninc.com/music_systems_trikan
Rears Linn Katan http://www.linninc.com/music_systems_katan
Sub Paradigm PDR12 http://www.goodsound.com/equipment/paradigm_pdr12.htm (wanted the Linn Sizmik 12.45 but couldn't justify $3,500 on just one speaker.)

Playback Marantz DV 8400 http://www.stereophile.com/musicintheround/504music/
Pre Amplification Anthem AVM 20 http://www.hometheatersound.com/equipment/anthem_avm20.htm
Amplification Anthem PVA 7 http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_8_4/anthem-pva-7-12-2001.html

Analog interconnects and speaker wiring by Audioquest, here's a good doc they have on cable design
http://www.audioquest.com/pdfs/aq_cable_theory.pdf

And a 50" plasma by Panasonic, obviously at the crap end as far as plasmas go but my wife wasn't about to let me spend 9k on a plasma. Runco XP-50DHD http://money.cnn.com/2008/04/04/smbusiness/9k_tv_runco.fsb/index.htm?postversion=2008040410

And then of course all the consoles, Xbox2, PS3, Wii. The PS3 does make a good Blu Ray player.

Cheers
Josh

From my limited research it seems as though the only good BlueRay player is the Sony playstation. I was reading that all the BlueRay players on the market are poorly made.

Now thats a system! :eek2: I like Linn's old stuff better than their new stuff anyways...........I also love my SACD's, cant believe something so good never really took off :/ I also wouldnt put Panny at the 'crap' end of plasmas, they're no Fujitsu's, however there is a lot worse....

So figured it out

Toshiba 63" 1080 rear projection
Onkyo Sound.1
PS3
Xbox elite
Wii
Shuttle hooked up to tv and system

and of course Dish tv

all I care about is that I can watch AdultSwim at night

Very interesting. If you don't mind, can you please explain how this is done. Thanks.

Good choices, can't go wrong with Techniques and 58's just work so well for live situations.

They also sound great for bottom snare drum mic's in the studio. (58's)
